In general terms I try to limit it to 12 hour days. Sometimes it is not possible but my experience has been that after that length of time, unless I'm working on real easy stuff like a building sketch or attaching pictures, my cognitive skills are pretty much shot and my typing skills diminish. Caffeine only goes so far. I would much rather put it off, get my 6 to 7 (or on a really good night 8) hours of sleep, wake up at 4 or 5 AM and finish it off feeling rested.
I agree with the cognitive skills aspect and I'm done in way before 12 hours.
Taking a break and walking away from appraisal work for a half hour or so also does wonders.
