Upgrade to Windows 11

The transition from 10 to 11 was seamless in my case. The only thing I had to do was uninstall the OneDrive app, something I recommend as a first step because it moves your files around without your acquiescence.
OneDrive is Ransomware....

Best thing I did was to buy a new computer with Window 11.
I still have my old Window 10 computer as a backup but OneDrive messed up opening my old Word files. One day I'll figure out how to fix it.
In meantime, new computer is so much faster in every way.

Win 7 was the BEST.

After I installed win10 I realized all the other apps like Chrome have also not updated. Lol.

I didn't keep win7 because I thought it was great. I kept it because going from 7 to 10 wasn't an upgrade and required clean install. Pain in the *** I didn't feel like dealing with. Major procrastination basically.

Upgrading really depends on your W10 machine.
If you were frugal (actually clever for picking a good spec computer) and your W10 computer has lasted you 7-10 years, chances are the hardware is not compatible with W11. If you picked up your laptop in the past couple a years and opted for a better specs computer, it may run W11. If you bought up a basic 10 computer back in the day, it probably won't run 11.

Since I am no longer on the PennDOT Gravy Train:cool:, I don't want to spend a lot of money on a new computer. I purchased this one before leaving PennDOT; it’s a replica of the one I used at work. I added extra RAM, additional ports, and a 1TB drive. I made the switch last night, and so far, there haven’t been any glitches. Thank you to everyone for the advice!

I don't know why my PC is not compatible with 11. It's Intel i7 with 32 gb ram, 2-1tb ssds and a rog strix.

It's probably something to do with the mother board.i remember going a bit on the cheaper end when I built it.

It took me two days to reorganize my stuff in Explorer after OneDrive got done with it's magic.
Having a Win11 built now. My instructions to builder "Please uninstall OneDrive and disable it via Group Policy so it does not run or reinstall." That ensures it's not just removed, it stays out of your workflow.
