Microsoft will no longer be supporting Windows 10 after Oct 25 and is offering a free upgrade to Windows 11- I believe my desktop; HP has the specs for it, but I do not want to download it to cause issues - has anybody upgraded to Windows 11 with the Microsoft free offer?
thanks

Just wait, win 11 just had a bad update problem. Always wait as long as your programs allow you to. I did upgrade to 11 on my backup computer just for the future, in case.

They will support windows 10 until Oct 25, thanks for the advice.

I will pay a reasonable fee for Windows 10 support until I can put together a new PC system.

You will be able to get another support year for like $30, can't remember but it was low. So far the turnover to 11 hasn't been a landslide. The change becomes necessary when your programs upgrade to use 11 and don't function under 10.

In their email Microsoft did not offer a paid option to support Windows 10 - I would sign up for it if it were available - I will ask my computer tech guy as well -

J, they will be offering it when the free updates are ready to expire, not now. I read that a while ago. Emai will say, you will die now unless you buy the upgrades. I think it's a years worth. But you now have to be careful about other programs that you might use that suddenly stop working because they updated to only 11 use.

They will be offering the paid updates because many are not rushing to 11.

They should just keep supporting their own product, windows 10!

I still liked Windows XP the best-

XP was very quirky, just like you grant.

I avoided 11 on my desktop. I hate 11 on my laptop. I will not upgrade. My tech guy says it isn't necessary.
