Using MLS Photos

Yes, of course. Typically fair or older condition may have no photos. My coments mean the photos they do show do not lie. Not even RE agnts are going to photo shop carpet out and put in a marble floor in a listing

Ya never know, Hoppie could do it.

Again, that's a problem of omission, not of photos themselves lying. One needs to talk to agents and others as well, have to read between lines on a listing and realize what is not said or shown is a clue to property condition and location /site issues as well.

I wonder if the people who buy houses inspect them before they buy them. They could just go by what is on the MLS.

I have bought sight unseen many times...without any inspection.

Most buyers enter a house interior though not all do. And a spec house or new construction is bought off representations and proxies of what it will be. In any case, we don't get to inspect interior of most comps, but we do if part of assignment inspect subject, and our subject is the presumed sale we develop, not that of the comps.

They don't have to abide by any certifications when they sign the paperwork, so I'm sure they don't take the time and rely on the MLS "Glamour Shots".

Try google earth it is a wonderful tool where you can see everything from all angles.

So the realtor is misrepresenting the property. Doesn't surprise me.
Sorry misread your post.
Then it is not useful for that one.
