USPAP class for the thirteenth time

Been taking USPAP since it was required. So confusing.
If it was clear, we wouldn't be taking 7 hours of it every two years.

Is there a rule that I can't take same USPAP class in same year?
I take USPAP early this year. Later got my renewal. Then take same 2024-2025 USPAP class in same year to get it over with next renewal in two years.
Yes

I remember the first USPAP class I took in 2002. The instructor said a new book comes out every two years and I know what you’re thinking, what other profession changes their ethics every two years? :rof: I should’ve known at that very moment that this profession was seriously lacking leadership at the top.

I think it was the third or fourth update class I endured. Then I got this negative mindset of 'this is the biggest waste of my time ever,' and I could never shake that feeling thereafter.
Absolutely agree. Maybe 30 minutes of 'minute' changes and the rest is regurgitation of the mind-numbing material you had multiple times previously.

Thank God they have it online. 7 hr class... read the material, listen to the drones, pass the quizzes and tests, finish in 2 hrs. +/-.

At least I didn't have to drive an hour each way in rush hour traffic to be put into a coma listening to the same crap or listen to some of the attendees asking Fernando-like questions.

Except for migrating from the top-down orientation of the DEPARTURE PROVISION to the fundamentals+user requirements of the SOWR the basics from the original version remain unchanged. "Elaboration" and "anti-lawyer verbiage" don't change the original intent or applications. It just deprives the belligerents of the opportunity to play word games in defense of misconduct.

Appraisal standards by whatever name or publisher are based on the 2 big factors, the ethics and competency requirements which are essential to the role. Everything else is just an elaboration thereof. Those ideas predate USPAP and will remain after USPAP is burned down or retired or replaced. You will never escape the existence of the an appraisal standard regardless of your oppositional defiance disorder.

And banking will continue to be heavily regulated, too; so the lenders will continue to operate under the govt boot, which will limit what they can and can't do.

I can't do it online anymore, I have to take in person just to catch up on gossip and ASA at least feeds you breakfast and lunch.
