Gregb Excuse me that I change the discussion but you have a logo of California Republic. Is there a group or movement for secession ( bad word for USA) ? .... Interesting
"California Republic" has been part of the state flag since its official adoption in 1911.

that was the flag of the rebellion. sad but true.

I had an AQHA horse I named Ozark Traveler, partly because he descended from a foundation sire named Traveler that was not related to Lee's horse, partly because of the story, play and painting of the "Arkansas Traveler". It originated pre-CW, but morphed into a negative "hillbilly" rebuke - a scurrilous attack upon all things Arkansas and in 1896, William H. Edmunds, in a pamphlet titled “The Truth about Arkansas,” calculated that the Traveler image had cost the state “millions of dollars.” This cost took into consideration the presumed economic progress that would have taken place in Arkansas without the burden of a negative reputation. First published in 1903, the bestselling joke book in American history exploited this hillbilly image by using the state’s name in the title—Thomas Jackson’s "On a slow Train Through Arkansaw". And, so tell me again about how prejudice originated only in white southerners.

you are absolutely right
Excuse my ignorance I do not know all the states different flags

Now with this issue of removing Robert E Lee statue and most confederate symbols what is going to happen to some state flags that include part of a confederate flag? . I studied 2 years in Georgia Tech in the early 60s and I remember the flag had part of the confederate flag included. I remember those people went wild when someone played Dixie I don't know if they still do

And I joined them to yell " To hell with Georgia" referring to the University of Georgia

ooops what happened to Standard Rule 2-1?
