Only slightly off point......If I had anything to do with mitigation of mold/water damage, I'd film the event with high quality lighting and equipment. I mean, every visual stage of the process.
Hopefully, if a cutting edge mitigation process is well documented to be performed as specified, stigma would be minimized. And, maybe you could sell the film to the owner![]()
Typically evidence of mold remediation, if performed, is provided in the form of reports describing the processes employed. Additionally, a post remediation testing protocol is performed by an assessor to certify that the conditions in the structure have been brought back to normal. I do not think that video of the original conditions would be helpful to a sales transaction, it just reinforces a negative.
I also think most remediators probably archive videos of the projects for legal purposes. When I perform assessments, I will document the conditions with photos in my report. I will provide video if paid to do so. I take videos to go back and look at for use when I formulate remediation instructions for the remediators. While the video I posted was not exactly professional quality, it was sufficient for my purposes.
I hope that others will post videos to the IAQ Forum as sort of a living library where interested parties can see a wide variety of projects with an understanding of what caused each problem.
Regards.
What was I thinking? Only to convince an overly curious buyer.
