VA Foreclosure Appraisal & MOLD

Only slightly off point......If I had anything to do with mitigation of mold/water damage, I'd film the event with high quality lighting and equipment. I mean, every visual stage of the process.

Hopefully, if a cutting edge mitigation process is well documented to be performed as specified, stigma would be minimized. And, maybe you could sell the film to the owner:)

Typically evidence of mold remediation, if performed, is provided in the form of reports describing the processes employed. Additionally, a post remediation testing protocol is performed by an assessor to certify that the conditions in the structure have been brought back to normal. I do not think that video of the original conditions would be helpful to a sales transaction, it just reinforces a negative.

I also think most remediators probably archive videos of the projects for legal purposes. When I perform assessments, I will document the conditions with photos in my report. I will provide video if paid to do so. I take videos to go back and look at for use when I formulate remediation instructions for the remediators. While the video I posted was not exactly professional quality, it was sufficient for my purposes.

I hope that others will post videos to the IAQ Forum as sort of a living library where interested parties can see a wide variety of projects with an understanding of what caused each problem.

Regards.

:rof: What was I thinking? Only to convince an overly curious buyer.

If most people saw film of the homes they were having custom built, probably the same reaction. Construction workers seem to mark their territory in the oddest places. Besides, how often does one see a perfectly clean floor under a carpet pad?

I took photos of the top quality underlay pad and duct tape seaming when I had laminate flooring installed on a slab on grade portion of my basement:)
