VA plumbing leak in ceiling in condo

Interesting, How would any lender involved in a CONDO sale/refi, insist that the adjoining COND unit, fix a problem (Leak) that affects the subject? They really don't have any authority to dictate what adjoining dwellings do. Yeh, the VET can repair/cover it for the inspection but, the VA is still holding the Bag.

The VA appraiser is not authorized to condition for an inspection. Is the leak stopped? Is the damage corrected? If so, it meets MPRs.

I didn't, I said it has to be remediated which it wasn't. The VA agrees with me not accepting an invoice from an unlicensed Virginia plumber they found no issue so the agent is having it properly repaired by a legitimate plumber tomorrow

Get a cert from that licensed plumber there is no problem. Get email or something from condo association to confirm. Go back and charge for reinspection and submit the documentation to lender.

never

You got a letter from the plumber who patched a hole. So the plumber opened it up to look, i assume. What else do you want, to tear down the whole ceiling. A letter from the plumber is sufficient, unless you're a more qualified inspector.

doubt

Unfortunately, all you can do is include the repair information in your work file.

pal Digger lol. jk, I knew there was a issue just happy the vet doesn't have to deal with this nonsense right after he closes. Notice the difference between a $100 "repair" and a $935 repair from a reputable plumber. The leak was directly above the subject toilet so imagine using the bathroom and having upstairs toilet water dripping on your head, gross

Dang....I'm charging my wife's helpless single friends way to little for my services.

Don't know about VA but I had a bathroom leak in my 2 storied townhome.
Seeing the ceiling with water in the 1st floor, it was an emergency and I had to hire a plumber to repair the leak. Paid over $1,000 but it's not something to delay.
Hopefully no further damage inside the ceiling.
