Don't know all of the presenters, but a few would be worth the peek. Brent Bowen is a statistics guru - He's developed LOTS of great tools for market analysis. Andy owns Freedom. Chase is a frequent poster on this forum. Michael Hobbs is just another appraiser like us - albeit on the commercial side. I get, though, that some of the folks on there might dissuade appraisers from being interested in what the good guys have to say.

They have to use their real names and calling professionals grifters lyers and thief's may get you in a lawsuit. Best to throw rocks while wearing a face mask abd standing outside the venue...lol )

I'm not putting down any of the appraisers getting a speaking gig.... being complacent and accepting the way it is (AMC work) is my main gripe.

Nothing..... they're just not addressing the elephant in the room.

"Generally" higher educational attainment and professional certifications correlate with significantly higher earnings and lifetime income...... not so with the AMC model or users accepting non-licensed, uninsured personal partially inspecting one's most valuable asset.....

Please forgive my pessimistic, cynical outlook on the profession.

I didn't call any one of the speakers names or put down any of the subject matter... I went right to the heart of the problem regarding GSE appraising.

I signed up. This type of conference is desperately needed in our space. Take a look, most of the speakers are not connected and didn't have to sell their soul for a time slot. You can pick who you want to listen to and ignore the rest, and the cost is less than what I spent on resort fees at Val Expo.

The only information I got for this conference was from the link in the OP.

It probably would have been a big selling point to get more attendance had they had a headline on the first page on how to obtain work outside of AMCs.

Isn't it funny..... appraisers have to put on their own conference outside of the Appraisal Expo as that has turned into the conference that the grifters attend....

It's good to see that some appraisers are still trying to keep the professional alive.
