Is this a General Appraisal discussion question?Has anybody had experience valuing a vending machine business? established route with old machines?
Not to mention the employees who have to get the money out of the machines get robbed on their routes all the time. That would be my major concern.A friend was offered a route with older vending machines and asked if it was a good idea. I have no idea how to direct him. So I thought gaining some insight on the components involved in evaluating the venture would be helpful. So far, it seems to me like more risk than reward, considering mechanical breakdowns, vandalism, and security, machine placement, contracts etc. I'm surprised at the prices being demanded for newer machines, since what I'm reading so far shows typical monthly gross of between $35 and $400 per machine which includes the PRODUCT! So I thought I'd ask the experts here for some insight.
