One bent coin puts you out of business until removed. One criminal with a laminated bill and string rips you off.
One vandal with epoxy glue stops up the money slot.

When I was a teenager, I found a cheap way to buy newspapers to read.
I put a penny on the railroad tracks and when the train went over it, it flattened into a quarter shape.
I put those altered quarters into the coin slots and got my cheap newspapers to read.
That's how I kept up to date with politics when I was young.
