Water Heater In Closet.

Rental water heaters are not allowed.
Never heard of renting one before.

I'm not sure if it's a state building code or what, but around here water heaters need the proper earthquake strapping, etc.


You don't need the thing falling over and spewing hot water while blocking your exit. Could be a fire hazard too.

I worked with FEMA in LA during the Northridge earthquake. I never saw any rental water heaters either.

I'm sure you mean after the quake. My recollection is that it seemed to go on quite a while. Like a minute or 2. But it was 4:31 AM and I was asleep when it hit. Rudest awakening ever. :Eyecrazy:

Anyway, couldn't have lasted long enough for out of town help to arrive. The aftermath continued for months and years however. Not to put too fine a point on it.
