What Appraisal Camera Do You Recommend?

I have been using the Sony Cybershot DSC-W690 for several years, and there is a lot to like about it. It has a great flash (illuminating even completely dark rooms), excellent zoom, and takes great pics. But it has 1 fatal flaw. Even though the camera overall is tough, the cheap plastic battery and SD card cover breaks easily. I have had three, and have had all three battery covers break off. Without the battery cover, the battery and SD card are much more likely to come out.

So I have decided to find another compact camera to use. It has to have a great flash and decent optical zoom. I would also like a compact camera that easily fits into a pocket. My Samsung Note 4 celly takes good pics, but it lacks a great flash and zoom in/out.

So what do you use? Give me pros and cons. I love the Sony, it just has that one irritating flaw, if they spent another $1 or $2 and made a better battery door, I would use them for years to come.

i used whatever $50 digital camera i could find online for years. all i was concerned with was an optical zoom. now i use my iphone 6plus exclusively, and if an area is really dark i use the little led flashlight i have on my keyring along with the iphones flash. haven't run into a situation yet where it caused me any problems.

I use my phone (LG) which is just as good, or better than these cheap "cameras" they sell at Staples.
I can zoom and the flash has worked great, even in unlit basements

I would recommend something from the Panasonic Lumix TS line of cameras. You can drop it, take it swimming, use it in a dust storm, whatever. Has a good flash, wide enough lens and excellent battery life (still!). I have had mine for five and a half years and according to the camera I have taken over 161000 pictures with no problems at all. The TS30 sells for around $100 now and that is probably what I would get if something happened to mine.

I have been using my old Droid Bionic Phone for more than a year now. I have it set to upload all new photos to Dropbox and it automatically downloads them to my desktop computer when my phone gets in range of my router.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX10V, the battery door locks. 24 mm wide lens is great for appraisal pics, unfortunately it uses a G battery not an N or you would already have extra batteries. I always recommend using a neck strap with your camera, I haven't dropped a camera since I started using one and my hands are always free in an instant.

There's a new one out that is supposed to be able to take a full room -- reviewed a report that used the camera (didn't get name or brand); it had outstanding interior photos. Anyone have one? What's the name? Think it sells for around $350. I'm not into cameras (Canon 20x SX280 HS is what I use) but those photos were so good I'd like to get one.

I need a camera or camera / lens combo that takes pictures well with windows unshaded. I want a good picture of the room and want the view in the window to show up too. The camera I use makes the room dark when it is bright outside and if I adjust it to make the room bright then the outside just gets made super bright and can't see the view. Anybody know what camera or camera / lens combo that requires?

Need picture that is clear of the inside and also shows a clear view like this..

Still using a Kodak V705 here. When it dies I'll need something with a wide angle lens.

Probably taken with a wide angle lens. Look to interchangeable ones
