What are you packing?

Well, at least no one has said the following, so far:

"I may die during an attempted REO inspection, but they will find a pile of warm brass next to my body."

"Again, LOL, way off topic like a true liberal. We aren't talking about showing up at Crossings point country club packing heat...we were talking about REO assignments, where you are at an iffy place and when you show up, the window is busted out, and the door is wide open and there is a cup from the 7-11 with condensation still on it in the floor of the living room--and the house is supposed to be unoccupied."

You realize the irony of this statement and this thread? REO assignments are typically ordered by AMC's. The going rate for this type of assignement where I work is $215.00. Are we really so desparate that we would go into (and I quote) "an iffy place. . .the window is busted out, and the door wide open" . . .for $215? So we arem ourselves with a $500 pistol and take all the risk. . .for $215?!

I've never received an REO from an AMC.... and you are getting ripped off if $215 is the going fee.

Well I always take someone with me. 5'2, 140 !!!; there are very few places I go by myself. For REOs, I take someone with me that carries a gun. I heard they have tazors that you don't have to get close to someone to use on them?

I am a liberal and I carry a 1911-A1 Rock Island .45 cal on all my REO assignments. I enjoyed the confort of this weapon in the military service and have extended it into my non-military life. I have a permit to carry- no one is comming to tell my kids daddy is not comming home. We go to REO's as teams- two people always.

I love my job but I love life much better!
Rusty
