What CE Subjects Interest You?

A couple of threads (one mine) relates to CE and how it is either trite stuff we've had or so specialized as to be useless to all but specialists

So, what ideas do you have for subjects that never seem to come up in CE but many of those problems do come up here quite often.

I have my list of deficiencies in CE that are in my area.

Appraising Bare Land (non-agricultural)

Valuing Rural Outbuildings - cost and sales issues

Determining Quality ratings for Residential Properties

How to estimate Cost to Cure

Appraising in areas with mostly Foreclosure sales

What's your choices?

1 - Why are we doing the appraisal in the first place - or what does 'collateral' mean.

2- The Principle of Substitution and what it means in everyday appraising.

3 - Short Sales, pre-foreclosures and/or foreclosures; how they impact your current market and how to utilize them.

4 - The demo - Just say NO to the cliff class.

I like those two and how about basic Business Valuation classes,

A class on giving value to amenities where there is no market data...justifying the subjective and introspective adjustments.

Historical Market Trends in Real Estate Value ... from 1920 - 2008 ... would be a great class if you could find someone that could teach it well.

Any course that would teach appraisers how to read and understand Fannie's instructions as to how appraisers are to consider concessions to the buyer.

Strive for excellence, don't compromise and never sell yourself short.
