What do you feel is a reasonable and customary fee for your FHA Appraisals?

My regular full fee for FHA is $425 for single families and $625 for multi families. I usually charge $75.00 above what a non FHA appraisal would cost to cover all the additional aspects of compliance.

Getting those fees from AMC's is a whole nother story.

Sounds like your right on the money with that fee. If they dont want to pay it so be it, let them suffer. I just lost a FHA job in Danbury same thing, I quoted $400 and they sent it over at $375. So with the usual bull **** turn time let them hunt around.

How about this I have blocked my phone number and then have called the client lender and have complained that I can no long do the AMC's work on your behalf because of the riduculous fee structure and turn times. I,ve done this a few times and the AMC doesnt know who is complaining and neither does the bank/lender. All they know is an appraisers who gets their work from the AMC is now refusing to do the work and has called their loan department to complain that they cant make a living because the AMC is to greedy.

Try blocking your phone number and then call the bank/lender and explain to them that this complaint is anonomous and that you as an appraiser will be refusing the lenders work due to the AMC the lender utilizes is basically stealing your fee and making it impossible to competently perform an appraisal for that lender. The AMCs' can then take the pressure from their client instead of us. I have and at times the bank is completely astounded as to what their soon to be ex AMC is paying.
