FOUR-FOUR-TWO (442) stands for four on the floor, four-barrel carb, and dual exhausts. Oldsmobile originally engineered it for police pursuit work - it was called the ‘Police Apprehender Pursuit Unit’. It’s one souped up Cutless Supreme and one of the finest muscle cars ever made.

Personally, I think Starsky and Hutch may have lasted another season if they would have been driving a 442.

I loved the 442 in the late 1960's and early 1970's. What will they bring back next? Polyester clothes?
