I took the most common maps I have and cut into 4 parts. Using an oversized copier at the local print shop, I scaled them down to 8 x 11. Then I scanned them. Labeling 0110NW; 0110NE; 0110SW; etc. and saved as .jpg files in a directory I called "FLODMAPS". I have the indexes on the wall, check it, then pull up the .jpg I need in Click Forms by clicking in the Flood map page > file. Or, for Word Perf Narrative, Insert >Graphic> from File
O.K. I'll admit it.......I just use the old paper maps......I agree, looking up flood zones is a waste of time.......Lenders get flood cert anyway.......I have had some wrong flood certs in the past but not many.
I cover two counties and have paper maps for both. They were not free. I then purchased flood maps on cd which made it much easier to look up and print. Now I use the flood map service provided with Athena (IDS) it gives me the panel information and indicates if it is in a flood zone. I do not include a map in my report unless it is in a flood zone.
