What is it?

It's a PORCH that is COVERED = Covered Porch; Cov'd Porch; Cv'd Pch; Etc....

Is this a Rorschach Test? I see a day off, sitting on the porch with a beer.

For appraisal purposes, I'd call it a "covered entry" and compare it for its utility of keeping folks dry as they arrive home to that of a full covered porch(with adjustments) or to that of a portico.

O.K., Brandon, since you started this post I'll ask you. Just how did you insert that photo into your posting ! ? There is bound to be a tutorial section somewhere within the Forum which explains how one would do that, or create those highlighted text or paragraph sections in a posting with "So-and-So said'....so any reply which explains how-to or directs me to that info, or to Forum Help or to the Watercooler is just fine. Thanks. P.S.--I would call that thing a "Cv'd Entry" in your photo. It appears that the roof extends aout 2 to 3 ft. over the sidewalk approaching the front door.....and.... they also put two chairs on the walk as they like to sit out there. I've also had h/o's suggest they have a rear patio and then find a 3'x 4' concrete pad by the single rear door, which may hold 1 chair, and still allow someone to come and go through the door. Without the pad there it's all clays and hard to have a summer bar-b-q on such a "patio" !

I belive you have to link a photo as a http/ by having it on an internet server. Some put the photo on their web page to link it; I just use a web site like pongo.com, the same one I use for E-Bay.

It's pretty easy.. you just need some webspace to upload it to. I uploaded mine to our website.. you need to know the http:// address to it after you upload it, and then when you want to insert it into your message, just hit the "IMG" button at the top of a "Post Message" screen, type the http:// address, and then hit the "IMG" button again.
