They have built three new stores in my county in the last year.

Called Capitalism--they're looking to make money. Must be some interesting demographics in that neck of the woods.

Dollar Store: Where NOTHING costs a dollar.

I bought a can of WD-40 the other day......$3.50.....

They have done some serious demographic studies and figured out that any location that would support a "country store" will support a Dollar General. I'm really surprised they don't sell gas. They are popping up like mushrooms around here.

Both Dollar General and Family Dollar have built numerous stores in Citrus County in the last 3 years. Seems like there is one every five miles now.

With the flat wages out there, this is what more people can afford.

Saves alot of time versus walking the 4.5 acre Wal Mart Supercenter when you just need TP and toothpaste.

Positioning to be the new "local" walmart. Everything in my ares is Super This, Super That in general commercial zoning. There is a lot of neighbohrood commercial land where big box stores won't even consider anymore. The Dollar General near our house is busy from sun up to well past sun down. Great for quickies where you forgot to get 1 item at the mega complex shopping center, and small packages with lower prices for those who don't want the 10lb bag of cereal. They are popping up all over the place and filling a retail niche.

Dollar stores and medical clinics. That's what's been going in here for a few years.
