What Kind Of Color Printer Are You Using ?

HP Business Inkjet 2200. Not sure if they still make it but they must have something like it.

Big ink cartridges - very good quality printing and fairly fast.

Cannon S6000. Prints good, is not an ink hog, has separate cartridges for each color, and they are $12 for B&W to $14 for color (or $32 for a whole case) at WallyWorld. The reason I bought that printer was because of the purchase price, and low cost per printed page price. What ever you buy, watch that cost per printed page price..... that's where they get ya'!

BTW Ramio. For your own files, no color is not necessary. But it is necessary for me as I do some commercial work, and have some individual non-lender clients that want a hard copy.

I still use my old HP Deskjet 840C because I don't print out reports that often. It's slow, but there's always something else to do while those are churning out. Besides, WalMart has the black and colored cartridges and that's 2 miles away from me and open 24 hours.

B) HP Business Ink Jet 2200

Cost effective, fast, durable.

Minolta 2300DL Laser. It squeeks, moans, groans and clanks, but prints very well. I also use a B/W 1200 HP. I can send color to the Minolta and B/W to 1200 in Toolbox at the same time (I have LPT1 and LPT2). Minolta Ctgs do not last as long as they say and I have had to replace the drum which has to come from the factory {everyone like OfficeMax was out of the drum}and is nearly 200 bucks. Drum did not last near the 45,000 copies it says. Maybe 12,000 copies. Cost maybe 4 cents a sheet overall. HP about a penny a sheet, buying the X cartridge (hi capacity)

No, Raimo, most lenders accept B/W. I just prefer color.

Used two HP2003c ...still have one with just one broken spring if anyone needs parts.

Present printer is a HP 2230 and have been quite pleased with it. Everyonce in awhile I am ask to do an appraisal for an individual so I print out a couple of reports with color picutures...but you are right, no nearly as necessary as in the past with the advent of electronic commerce and edi.

surprisingly to many of you probably, but I email .pdf reports about 1 time per month. The rest is paper. Of course, I have no mortgage clients except WalMart's Arvest Mtg. Co. and most commercial appraisals are still paper in my area.

Mike-- is your printer similar to the HP2000c? I just fixed mine but could use some parts from the spring assembly. Mine has what are known as dongles in the ink supply area and the spring assembly isn't too strong and breaks frequently on these machines.

This darn printer cost about $900 when it was new and is notorious for needing lots of repairs. I repair it myself but the parts are starting to not be worth it. If your printer has exchangeable parts with mine then I'd gladly pay any shipping charges. Thanks!

Okidata 7200 color laser. Way more than I need, but super fast.

Pat I would suggest checking ebay. It's amazing what is out there manufactured a few years ago and still new in a box. I've gotten where I replace practically everything electronic on there. I'm a creature of habit and can usually find an exact duplicate of what I need. When I replaced my HP 2200 inkjet I got a new one for $105 that had all the cartridges and printheads. Printheads get expensive. I can now cannibalize the printheads and cartridges from the old 2200 when I need to.
