I was talking to another appraiser the other day that I had met for the first time. We were on the subject of the HVCC and that crap. He told me that he new of an appraiser that has started his own AMC and if you bring your clients to him you will get 90% of the work from them still. Also he will only charge the appraiser $50. Anyone else heard/dealt with this before. This doesn't seem logical to me or we will all have an AMC and just trade work with each other, too many people to monitor? This is not just for us Utan's, I would like to hear from everyone.

same thing is going on in NY. A local schol is starting their own AMC with the same premise. Of course once all the lenders find out what goes on with it it will implode. THe idea of the HVCC was to take the MBs out of the mix and put the ordering on the lenders shoulders. Have MBs order through their own select AMC most likely won't cut it.

"Big-time" lenders will likely associate themselves with AMCs that offer a "bundle of services" (appraisal, title etc.) and not some appraiser who calls himself an "AMC".
