Just noticed that Georgia has revoked or suspended 33 appraisers...did someone light a fire down there?

I think (based on some converstions I had with Arizona and Florida) that the ASC has made some changes to their computer programs and are cleaning house one state at a time. Each week a very lengthy lists shows up for a new state that goes back 10 years. First I think was CA, then AZ, TX, and now GA--so they must be trying out their new system. Check for your name on the ASC register nationwide. I discovered I was listed in both AZ & FL, there is another Jo Ann Stratton that was an appraiser in Florida (now over 70 years old--I am only 66.75) and her license expired in 1998. The old computer system the ASC had combined my records with hers and now has corrected most of the info.

I haven't heard of anything in particular, but I'm glad they're doing something. Where exactly did you see this list of 33. The GREAB website has a list, but it didn't look any longer today than any other time I've checked it.

It's been cold down here.. somebody's gotta light the fire.. :)

Cold?

Brandon my boy, you don't know what cold is.

Cold is when someone says something and then you have to take the frozen words inside, thaw them out just to hear what was said.

Mike-

Saw that also. Take a peek at the email though, it looks like its everyone who has been revoked or suspended in the commissions history.

Dont know why all the old ones would come to the surface now.

Answer: It is Christmas bonus and budgeting season, a time to be jolly! Ho Ho Ho. Merry Christmas State Legislature. Just look how hard we have been working.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, CONSECO goes bankrupt being the 3rd largest US corporation in history to do so and it was all due to appraisal fraud based on the old lenders definition of market value. You all know it, you have heard this a thousand times: "If a seller is willing to sell it for price $zzz and the buyer is willing to buy it at $zzz then, that is our definition of market value. All we want you do is fill out the forms and if you can't do it we will find some one that will." Or this one: "You have got to be out of your mind appraiser-he paid $40,000 more than that for it two years ago."
Would any of you guys like to start an empty stocking fund for CONSECO Financial, Corp., employees? No Santa this year.

I mailed my blank check to Conseco yeaterday. I have the Christmas spirit.
