When do you deposit check?

I also do a ton private work, and never had a chargeback via "app". Yet.

If you ever do you have the least recourse with one of the apps. At least read the terms before accepting. Not all are created equal.

The advantage to the consumer running on fumes is the ability to put it on their credit card instead of having to actually withdraw cash from their bank account.

Catering to clients "running on fumes" is good strategy for running a pawnshop, not an appraisal business.

I don't discriminate. People going through a divorce sometimes don't have a lot of income or cash at their disposal and frequently are in desperate need of appraisal and real estate advice in general. I'm happy to provide both, and you should be as well. That's why the state gives you a license and protects your business interests, they expect you to serve the public interest in return.

Drug dealers and some other types like cash only. Cash is like caulk and paint. It hides many sins.

Watch me play the boy.

I do mostly GSE appraisals so I get payment after I complete my reports.
With private reports in which I get paid directly from client/owner, do you deposit check immediately or near date of completion of report?
Just curious how my peers do it.
Do you only take cash in rent collection?

From a USPAP standpoint, you could be okay being paid in cash Fernando on an appraisal.

Okay to appraise your property, My fee is $X. Please sign this engagement letter. Please read the terms. It is cash only for this assignment.

Fee up front required. Work starts when fee is received in cash.

I prefer big bills but you can break it down to small bills if needed.

I like you boy.

Be careful with cash on public forum. Criminals will get you if you have lots of cash.

Desperate people do desperate things when your OMV isn't what they expected. I'll stick to my avoiding problem client strategy and you stick to yours.

That's you with lots of cash. It's your world. I am just saying nothing wrong with collecting cash on an appraisal.
