Who is the best online education provider (trainee now, continuing later)?

Harrison ran it for years and he was a good teacher - I've taken several CI courses and he taught the best USPAP class ever.
I took a live course from Harrison once. Very savvy guy and he had a great pitch. I'm pretty sure that I appropriated a couple of his quips for my own usage, which is not the case for most of the instructors I've sat through.

Read USPAP manual and now looking for best (regardless of cost) online TX trainee education. Appreciate your recommendations: Mckissock? Hondros College? Appraisal Institute? VanEd? Champions School? Others?

To add value to my future supervisor, I would like to complete all training to be a licensed appraiser in TX before starting as a trainee. THANK YOU!
For qualifying education, I think you should lean to the Appraisal Institute's online training. I've just completed the first 75 hours and I find it to very good. Aside from quality, one reason to consider it over the others is that the Appraisal Institute may be the first out in the market with the PAREA alternative training to the supervisor/trainee model. It will likely be out in September. PAREA will be acceptable in Texas. The Appraisal Institute's PAREA program might be favored to those who have completed qualifying education with the Appraisal Institute.

saeldrid, I agree with you that having more than the initial trainee courses will make you more valuable to potential Supervisors. Hopefully this would help you find a Supervisor to take you on as a Trainee. The Texas Appraisal Licensing & Certification Board website is unclear regarding allowable online Qualifying Education, so I suggest calling or emailing. I agree that in-person classes are preferable, but often more costly and inconvenient than online courses. However, that would be irrelevant if TALCB does not allow online Qualifying Education. I recommend Appraisal Institute qualifying education, but not exclusively. Keep in mind that your required experience won't start until you have an approved Supervisor and you are authorized to gain legal real estate appraisal experience. Good luck.
