Why Do Some Appraisers Believe, Fees And Fees Alone, Determine Ethics?

I don't understand why fees and ethics were combined in a question in this matter...
.

Probably because UC had an intellectual melt down and needed to type something to feel better.

.

Because you are much smart than me....
Can you explain how your post relates to my question why some appraisers believe fees reflect ethics????

You talkin' to me?

I interpret your premise to mean if the fee is low, so are the ethics.
If the fee is high, you can afford better ethics, or afford to do a better job.
Not cut corners, guess at things, just put something in the box. Like you might if the fee was low.
If that's how you roll, you are a low quality individual. :fencing:

I think most people on here are much better than that.

Not going to discuss the definition of morals, or ethics. I know right from wrong, good from bad.
They did a hella job pounding that into our little heads in church long ago. :ROFLMAO:

If I question the morals and ethics of the new Mad Hatter, will I get banned? :rof:

How can I stick to the original question, when you derail you're own thread, and demonstrate your ignorance of the laws/regulations/rules, that govern your work, which, you are supposed to know, on the very first page of a thread about ethics?

:rof::rof::rof::rof::rof::rof::rof:

See what gummy bears do to your brain?

:rof::rof::rof::rof::rof:

Because I thought you were smarter than that....
But it's not the first, nor will it be the last time I over estimate your smarts.... :)

That's okay.

I've been over-estimated before.

:D

an unethical appraiser is unethical at a low or high fee, same for an ethical one, and that would hold true whether they are employed or an independent contractor.

I will say that ethical appraisers would avoid working for certain clients whether for fee or salary.

I'm stunned that you of all people would post this......

No not talking to you....

Sorry for the confusion...:)

And I agree that the majority of appraisers are ethical....
And not just AF members....

Let's not get distracted by the "Moral" vs "Ethics" comparison chart. The only reason I include the chart is to show that, at least, one train of thought believes the 2 appear similar but are not the same thing.

So focus on ethics because ethics are the standards for any industry, profession, etc.

I find it fascinating how many appraisers post their opinions that fees, lower than their personal standard fees and/or fees that they want, guarantees unethical behavior by both the appraisers (who accept) and AMCs/lenders (who assign) the job.

Yet, should these same appraisers accept an assignment with a fee lower than their standard fees (for whatever reasons) these same appraisers would never even think about conducting themselves in an unethical manner....
I believe they would conduct themselves in an ethical manner....

In many instances folks have complained because of a $25 difference....
Do you really believe Billy will conduct himself in an unethical manner at a fee of $325 and in an ethical manner at a fee of $350+?????

I find your chart lacking in the very basis, of why you/us/we are going to attempt a discussion on this subject.

So let me be the first to point out what is lacking in your chart.

This aint church,
This is business.

It's all about the money, honey,
That's why you are "in business".

Else, you can pony up to a church and have your morals corrected.

The only thing I can think of is that you were truthful when you shared with the AF that you are a blonde......

But I believe the color of your hair has little to do with your reading and comprehension skills....

Point 5

You don't find it unethical to be selling a service that has to meet laws/regulations and guidelines, which you did not bother to read??

Really??.

You got a lot of reading to do to catch up there, buddy.
