Why don't form software vendors create an integrated package within their software for doing word processing and narrative reports?

It should consist of editable certifications, etc. and allow for formatting reports in 8½ x 11". They have the photo addenda, spell check, simple certs, Location maps, etc. All they need is a simple formattable built-in word processor and some basic adjustment grids and expanded cost / income approach addenda. Seems a no brainer.

A lot of people appear to be intimidated by Word or WordPerfect and narrative creating software is expensive and hardly intuitive or easy anyway, but the timid might be willing to try it were it part of their "home" software package.

Yes Terrel .. lets give incompetent appraisers another avenue to become incompetent in. If they cant figure out word or wordperfect then so be it. I for one am not interested in making things easier for those in our business that have no business being in our business.

Interesting thought Terrill. I am guessing the the additional cost of the software would be prohibitive as most of the software is set up for residential applications. However, maybe they should create a additional component for the software (add-on, if you will) which would be available for an additional fee...Maybe including a trial period on the residential side to maybe expand the potential market for the use of said program...

They already have comment pages. Seems no biggie to add indentions, etc. within the reports and make a grid or two that is editable.

Or the competent to be competent in...
