Many posts today on X about Grok. It seems far too many google searches go straight to Wikipedia. Thoughts? Elon haters, please taint other threads in water cooler.

Wiki it about as reliable as other fact checkers...in other words, not very reliable.

Have't played with Grok much yet. I've already nearly replaced google with a combo of Brave search and Perplexity for a year or so. Google search results just aren't good any more. I've been experimenting with an open source search engine called SearXNG that aggregates all of them. Here's some public instances: https://searx.space

My read of the AI results is that they usually seem to consist of an aggregation of other people's conclusions. Sometimes that's good enough but other times I prefer to do my own aggregating.

More often the first thing to come up on Google is an AI overview

Yeah, this has put SEO optimization into a tailspin. It's hard to rank for stuff now. If you don't show up in the AI overviews, you basically don't exist
