My computer just popped up another Windows update. This is the third one in as many days! I don't need no stinkin updates! How do I get the annoying pop-up to stop popping up without installing every update that pops up?

Take heed my appraiser friend. Those darn Microsoft patches and updates took away about 38 hours of my life. (Better known as CRASHHHHHHH!) Not all patches work well with all other software or programs you have installed. My eyes were opened AFTER the CRASH by reading info on Dell's web site. I'm sure there are plenty other sites out there that can give good advice BEFORE an update. But as all will tell you back up first, and/or make sure your system restore etc. is always working/current. Blah, Blah, Blah.

You might too need those stinking patches. At least the security related ones unless you like hackers in your computer. I suggest you keep it. Read what the update is about if is security related install it.

But to answer you question I don't know. I think you have to install the update software? Never wanted to uninstall mine. But you can go the MS website and get the info you need.

BTW I don't go months with no update and then like you get 2 or 3 in a week.

Go into "Settings" the "Control Panel" .. there's an automatic update icon .. (at least in WinDoze2KPro ..)

Nope, no automatic update icon in "Control Panel" on mine. And I just got another update today. Lately it's been about every two days I get these things! I just don't want a crash like Mary Perry talks about!

Does it give you an item in the sytem tray .. lower right .. if so, try clicking on that (right-click) and see if it allows you into the configuration ..
