I was wondering if it was possible to setup wintotal to use a ssh tunnel. If not would i be able to use an encrypted VPN?. See my moms an agent and she wants to work from home with out having to use citrix's GoToMyPC. Any thoughts? any other ways to do this?

I tried a vpn setup with Athena about ten years ago under Windows 2000. I was able to make it work but the speed was too slow to be useful. We were using cable modems on the same cable system. I've used the Windows remote desktop for remote access and it works fine. This is basically the same as GoToMyPC. If you have the pro version of Windows it is included. The only computer that needs the pro version is the one running Wintotal, the others can be running most other versions of Windows or recent MacOS.

Ok the whole point is to not need to use a remote desktop software. this should be easily possible. I mean a vpn should work, but would i would rather use an ssh tunnel instead. To use a ssh tunnel you need to be able to set up proxys for the program and more specifically you would need to be able to set up a SocKs proxy.

Another piece of information the office has enough upload for this to happen and if i feel that the office is too slow i could always install wintotal here at my house as a server and have them proxy/vpn to here because i have a 25 MegaBit upload.

Why not install WinTotal as a RemoteApp on a 2008 R2 Server...:)
