Has anyone else noticed the XML file size larger than typical recently. I am not sure why this is happening but I did contact ACI support to find out the issue. I am putting more photos in my reports but the industry should have a way to adapt to the increased requirements. The clients want more photos, more explanation etc. I hope they can fix this issue and shrink the file sizes or clients will have to start taking 20meg or higher file sizes. I did a shrink several times and cannot seem to get the file size down anymore. The ACI file is 7megs which is right at the cusp before it crashes and tries to go to .Zoo format which is another issue.

Anyone know any solves, please let me know. I am using Windows 10 and on release 16-0818WU.

reduce the color profile in your pictures from 7 million colors to 256k colors.

How do you do this in ACI? if you mean opening each file with a photo editor and doing this change one by one that would be way to time consuming as an option.

CF does an auto image edit. When you drag and drop the original 'big' photo into the cell, it automatically reduces the size. This option can be turned on and off easily depending on your requirements.

I'm sure all of the big software players offer something similar.

It appears this is an industry wide issue according to Mary Dee at ACI tech support. This is going to be a major business workflow issue for me during one of my busiest months. Unfortunately it is a windows 10 / ACI issue and I do not have a machine with windows 7 to do the converting so the only option Dee gave me was to send the xml file to ACI so they could convert it. Major bummer. I may go out and just buy a windows 7 machine to get this done until they come up with a fix.

I like the way Adobe reduces file sizes and the loss of simple .pdf files means you cannot take advantage of that. I have files from Word Perfect that are 70mb reduced to 2-3 mb using the reduced file function in Adobe Acrobat.

There is a known issue with windows 10 and ACI converting to XML (MISMO). The file sizes are larger than normal and this will cause problems when sending to AMC websites for processing that do not process with ACI SKY through the cloud. I had to purchase a separate windows 8.1 laptop to process these files. Once I purchased the device I called ACI tech support and they had to provision the machine. The file sizes are now normal and can be submitted. They have no timeline on a fix for the windows 10 issue. My big complaint is that no one cared to send a broadcast message to there customers letting them know of the known issue. I wasted hours trying to figure out this issue because I usually start working in the wee hours of the morning and ACI support is not available.

I am having the same issue. Since the Windows 10 anniversary update and the following ACI update to fix the printing issues all my files are much larger. They went from 5MB to 8-9MB. This is an issue like you said especially when uploading reports. My Apex Medina sketch software also stopped integrating with ACI and now I have to shell out $295 for the new Apex software. Apex Medina is an old software program and I understand that Apex no longer updates it, but everything stopped working after that last ACI major update. I am getting really close to changing software providers.

In ACI run tools "reduce size of all images" after converting file type to "zoo."

All my images default to the lowest image sizes. Even when I reduce the size of all the images the reports are still 20% larger than before the anniversary update.
