Here I find few assessors know how old a house was, some might note when it was last remodeled. Thus, they apply the effective observed age (a guess) as the actual age. Sometimes the agent knows better.

What kind of an appraiser are you. You need to find the original 1st deed to have in you work file, for an accurate age. This is the 1st time i have heard you taking a short cut.

I believe our city hall has all the original deeds stored somewhere. Some time back someone was stealing the revolutionary times deeds and selling them. Obviously was a good payday. However, they did it too many times and got caught.
