Why do I keep getting this response from lenders? Why don't they understand? I'm tired of waiting and I don't care if it ever settles...I want my check and I want it now!

They want the job rushed, they want an additional comp, they want an addendum as to why I say "rural location" and they want all that NOW because they have to send the package out today by Fedex so they can process this case. With one lender, that was 10 weeks ago! I called Friday and they said "but it hasn't settled yet"........

The greater the expressed "rush" to the assignment......the better our opportunity to ask them to overnight the (running total) of the fee we are owed ! "Yes, Ms. Jones, I can easily get that extra comp sale data for you and it will go out to you by noon tomorrow. Here's how you can help me, to help you, to get that file completed and sent out for the closing.....just overnight the sum of $zzz.YY as a bank or cashier's check, and your request (of whatever) will go out to you immediately". Back in July I was asked to go back to a house and take picture of a repair to city utility's gas line into house.....and boy, was it a rush, and fax a 1-page write-up and even fax the photo although to come across in B & W, ....."and I will personally send you that $50 when we close the day after tomorrow". Uh-huh, and 9 weeks later it arrived after I had to make 3 re-invoicings and several phone calls. The invoices were actually "lost". Amazing ! It only takes a few bad apples to spoil their barrel.....and allow us the chance to set our protocol on a very fundamental part of being in business.....getting paid for what you do.

Charlotte; over the years I've always found that when money is owed it always arrives slowly and after many inquires :? There is no better way than to COLLECT, than when you walk up to the door, the Fee is paid :) If and when you decide to divert from that tactic, you take on the risk of not getting paid :x . Our culture has changed dramatically and these are now the Rules of The Road-so to speak. 8O

Good Luck on your quest for the "Long Green" 8)

I love rush orders.

Rush me the payment first, then I'll rush you the order. I'll even give them my Fed-x account number. As soon as I verify the package has been sent I go to work. It costs me a couple bucks but so what. How much time are you spending making collection calls and client visits for your cash?
