I don't see the video about zoning, the link starts out with defective car tires.
 
Mike & Ralph: I don't know where you read my post 2 weeks ago about Pasadena, CA. The city requires a public inspection each time a property is sold or leased, as the basis of a new Certificate of Occupancy. The inspection can require an addition to be permitted. Extensions and temporary waivers are available.

I think Pasadena is the way to go. It takes all the guess work out of what has a permit or what is allowable for zoning.

I wonder if Pasadena has been sued over its requirement?
 
Just look over to the right and try the purple house story...

Zoning is usually a reverse taking in my opinion.
 
I can see that this really is a non-issue. The guy buys the property knowing its zoning limitations, applies for a zoning variance and is denied.

Permits are not even an issue. :shrug:
