Is Appraiser Depot Still In Business?

Bad experience with Appraiser Depot

We had some issues a few months ago. Those are fixed now.

If you read all the threads about me and my company, you'll see that 99.9% of them are positive.

That's NOT true. Matt, you NEVER replaced my DISTO A6 that broke after numerous emails to you, you only replied twice to me saying they were out of stock right now. Well, how come you never replied again when I emailed you and repeatedly asked if you had them again?
I even mailed my broken Disto back to you certified and insured--so you have it and I have nothing, minus a loss of $600.
Folks, I bought my DIsto from Appraiser Depot in January 2007, about a year later it stopped working/broke and after attempting to call Appraiser Depot numerous times and leaving messages to inquire about a return or exchange, no one ever called me. The only way I ever got his attention was when I posted my problem on the AF. Then we exchanged some emails, he told me to return it, which I did but never got a new one. Like I said, I returned my Disto thinking I could get it replaced and only received 2 replies back from Matt saying they were out of stock right now. I got no other replies when I followed up to find out when I could expect them to be "in stock."
Don't take a risk with Appraiser Depot--nobody ever answers the phone and if you have a problem with your Disto, the service isn't there.

I'll echo CP's take on this. I also know that without Matt's energy, enthusiasm and virtual "evangelism" for the DISTO for the past few years, appraisers would not likely be using a product like what he personally pushed into being the fine level of productivity it is today. No other lasermeter-type distributor can come close to doing what Matt did for the appraisal industry in this regard.

mdt,

Why the slam on me? I am just stating my opinion based on experiences I have had. I do have more than a casual background regarding the DISTO ;-) Anyway, if you have a beef with Matt or Appraiser Depot, please leave me out of it.

Thanks,

I bought a TLM100 from AppraiserDepot a couple years ago and was very satisfied. I would buy from him again.

You're right and my apologies.

I am and was pretty angry at the poor response, lack of follow-up, and failure to make good on a promise from Appraiser Depot. Even if my Disto wasn't repairable, I would have liked some help as to where I could go or even pay 50% for a new one.
It seems that most of the customers who are happy with the products and services at Appraiser Depot have not had to deal with returns, exchanges, or haven't attempted to call Appraiser Depot.

Yep got to get into this one.

A few years back and I don't really remember when I posted I was having some kind of problem with my Disto. Posted the problem. No one knew who I had got the machine from and I did not make it a point at that time to say who I had got the machine from. I was just looking on how to fix it other then taking my 15# rounding hammer for horseshoes and working on it.

Mr. Matt answers the post and tells me to send it in to him, I had found the death nell of the Disto. I do as he requested and with in a very short time I had a new Disto.

Mr. Matt stands behind his products and I will buy again from him. The service was more that I had expected.

By the way someone calls me, I don't run around wtih one of them phone things in my ear like I am on some kind of special mission and need to be in contact with the mother ship at all times. So my phone calls get returned when I return them.

Not every one in the world gets along with me either. Matter of fact I sure some would like me to pushing up a Daisy or two or looking at the grass from the bottom side up.

Forgot about another posting about a problem and the members here on the forum told me to change the bats. Now I would never had thought about that. If I remember correctly Matt also responded.

Home Depot????

I purchased a Disto Laser in Oct 2006 and also purchased a cd to "learn the basics"; however, my mentor, who has been appraiser for over 50 years taught me to use nothing but a tape to measure a house with. Years after he retired, the box arrived with the disto laser, glasses, holster, etc; needless, to say, I have never taken the disto laser out of the box (even with the cd)....I still use a fiberglass tape measuring in decimals...my mentor was right after all.

Appraiser Depot is a business and Matt is the owner. I would expect the business to at least respect it's customers. I left at least 4 messages requesting a call back and never got a call back, email, or response. The only time I got a response was when I posted about the issue I had under the thread titled, "Appraiser Depot..is anybody home?" I'm not the only one who had this lack of response. And I didn't start that thread.
Ray, I didn't expect him to necessarily answer the phone right away. Returning my phone call would have been more professional.
