We have recently started using Encompass (Ellie Mae) software as a result of some of our lenders switching over to their secure system. Encompass now requires annual fee's to see and accept the appraiser orders. It seems like every outfit wants a piece of the action, we do 99 % of the work and they get 15-25 % of the fee plus. Their Ellie Mae software is not very robust and lacks sufficent interaction for the Appraiser. In addition, their tech support line is very slow and virtually out of service. I believe they are based out of California. They were quick to return a calls or emails when we were interested in signed up with them and later did an about face afterwords. :fiddle:.

I am on fence about these guys too. The old forum replys from 2007 are not promising. Seems like to much money for a possibly empty promise.

I have a few clients that use it (mostly small lenders). I'd rather pay $10 to Ecompass than $200 to an AMC.

I'm running into a minor issue right now though. I accepted and payed $10 for an order, but the client mis-ordered the appraisal (bunch of wrong docs and info). I'm trying to delete/cancel the order after acceptance, but the system doesn't appear to allow it.

It's flawed, but $10 flawed systems are better than $200 flawed systems, imo.

You don't have to pony up the $300+ to get to use their system, you just accept on a per order basis for $10 each.

The $300 fee makes no sense anyway, because you have to renew after you accept 30 orders. 30 x 10 = 300, so there's no savings or advantage.
