Question and a gross story

Tell the lady to put up bat houses outside before the cleaning is done so they'll have a new place to live. They're great for mosquito control.

Perhaps she has a belfrey she could keep them in.:new_asthanos:

Histoplasmosis primarily affects a person's lungs, and its symptoms vary greatly. The vast majority of infected people are asymptomatic (have no apparent ill effects) or they experience symptoms so mild they do not seek medical attention. If symptoms do occur, they will usually start within 3 to 17 days after exposure, with an average of 10 days. Histoplasmosis can appear as a mild, flu-like respiratory illness and has a combination of symptoms, including malaise (a general ill feeling), fever, chest pain, dry or nonproductive cough, headache, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, joint and muscle pains, chills, and hoarseness. A chest X-ray can reveal distinct markings on an infected person's lungs. Chronic lung disease due to histoplasmosis resembles tuberculosis and can worsen over months or years. The most severe and rare form of this disease is disseminated histoplasmosis, which involves spreading of the fungus to other organs outside the lungs.

I'm not going to let an opportunity like this pass me by. Does anyone know when the auditions for the sequel to "The Fly" is? :new_eggface:

I didn't get roasted for my FHA conditions response in post 29, so I take it that it is good to go. :new_smile-l:

Take out all the crap about the actual disease. Say there is a possible safety issue, full stop. Do not exceed your expertise. Oh and I wouldn't even hazard a cost-to-cure when you couldn't inspect the whole attic, and don't know what is actual damaged from the bats. I also wouldn't spell out that you need to have "all possible entries sealed". I would simply say the infestation needs to be remedied by an expert. Other than that it looks good.

I think her belfry is chuck full already. :-)

Gross. Hope you don't get sick, guava is toxic....but, they use it in mascara, so maybe its not as bad as I've heard?

haha, there IS a difference between guano and guava! Guava is a tropical fruit and VERY edible. I would guess your mascara is made from GUAVA, not GUANO.

I do not remember where I saw the article but it was about bat removal and transplantation to a different area. Kinda like they do with bees. These critters have a real value when it comes to mosquito control. They are also pollenators of some plants.
As far as sealing that area I think it will be extremely hard. Bats can squeeze through a space that you would think impossible to get through.
