How Many Double Check Sketch Before Leaving Property

I have not started using the mobile sketch function of Total Mobile yet because I can do it faster on paper and the desktop than on the small screen in the field. I impressed myself this week with a weird cut up contemporary that closed within less than a foot and the area in question would be less than 10 square feet. I do take alot of pictures of the odd ones inside and out for later reference. Having built houses and worked for an Architect helps when you get the truly odd balls.

colonial 36' X 25' with a 90% finished basement....
2 car garage...
Does the house cantilever 3' over the basement?

you are correct sir!

also, walk out (W/O) basement, 2 covered porches (COP) and 1 wood deck (WD)

I always make sure it squares up and I have all bedrooms and baths marked.
I draw to scale on graph paper.

I always carried my laptop for complex properties. I'd sketch it on paper and then put it in the sketch program to make sure it added up. You could also go old school like Lee and use graph paper, but usually most of the house is square...usually, but you always run into those pothead...sorry, "creative" architects.

yep, how could you not square up your sketch before leaving? i have a digital copy of the auditor sketch with me onsite and compare mine to it while sketching.

you remind me of the old guy in the back of the CE class who always has a story to contradict whatever the instructor is using for an example...

Mostly confident in my initial measurements. I do usually check against assessment sketch before leaving and verify is something doesn't jive between the two.

Altho I'd be lying if I said I never had to go back to a property to remeasure something. Only 2 times that I can remember and both were my errors.
