Thank you to the people that cannot Stop -And I now vote that unless you are a working as an-appraiser !!! And if you are retired or are not in the Field -That you identify your self as retired-have no license and are are acting as a Consultant-OR IN a Capacity of a a Emeritus-retired and and that you are just giving an- Opinion-That way we on the forum can look to your wisdom and experience, but your political-opinions are just that -STOP Those need to go to another social media like face book where you can talk about grand children , your life or your health issues. The appraisers that are working need to get information or help on their everyday appraisal issues, not talk about BLM or other things that will not help them make a living - In California there are protests every week -end so get up an go and do your thing-or SHUT UP - And that applies to me too Uncle Billy is alive and well at 94 -but he is not going to help us make a living -So I told him his career is over : )

I've decided to try the ignore function on a small number of people.
Not you glenn. Not yet anyway. :peace:
Thank you I never put anyone on ignore because I was taught to keep my enemy's closer than my friends and also to try and turn my enemy's-into a friend - There have been any times in my life where I found out we were not as far apart as I thought, and actually became friends and broke bread-together, politics and religion can be great dividers but when people actually, sit down and break bread ( eat ) many issues are not as wide as we think, right now we are in a hyper elevated time of anger-distress and Covid-19 has pushed many over the edge . I Pray and hope we ( ME ) can become a better man and person -I need to Listen and understand and grow. Not easy for an-old dog but thats my wish . So please let me extend an-olive branch out to you and others and call me out when I go over the line- I Need it and I will try my best to understand where you are coming from. There is nothing positive for any of us to destroy each other or create any more anger or hate than what is going on right now in the country. THANK YOU for listening - Glenn

My main concern and ( NOTE -I have contributed to the problem and many have left the forum and I like this forum and I and think it's the best appraisal site in the Country --But-the owner and monitors may just get tired of all the non-appraisal issues we talk about - I AM GUILTY - So I will cast the first stone- at myself -- Maybe its time to end the daily non-stop Covid-19 debates and things that we have no control over- In my opinion that has elevated the anger and rants and attacks on other forum members because it has now become a political issue and not a medical issue, the same with BLM and other things , it has distracted us from what the core mission of what the forum probably was intended to be --AGAIN I will say I am as guilty as anyone else for jumping into the fray and unfortunately I did not realize just how damaging-this can be to other people. So I think we all need to get back to appraisal issues and political-religious or other things can go on face book or what other sites people use. Unless we do this we may lose this fantastic site and will regret it : )

Now yer talking. :peace:

Take a deep breath and calm down.

Everyone here still loves you.

The very unfortunate thing is that those controversial topics, do impact appraising, both from a business end, and from the procedures end.

Pennsylvania was the only state to shut down all of real estate in early March through April, then tried to back it up to only properties under contract as of March 28th.

Doesn't mean they won't do it again, and doesn't mean any other state won't give it a whirl also. There is much more at stake than we should talk about. But, considering the state of financial companies, the ending - next week - of the federal eviction prevention, new waves of mutations of the virus and on and on and all the other reasons that are making people highly annoyed, these are still considerations that impact appraising.

Apparently "modernization" includes the considerations for current conditions, even if those conditions are controversial or not. Is there "market value" when no one from outside of the subject's neighborhood can move in, because the neighborhood is on lock down, and the appraiser is guessing from their home computer?

Of course not, but it's still as much fun to read their comments here, as it is to read yours about Uncle Billy and your Yenta.

Don't get too excited over a thread closed.

Just try to discuss it in a different way.
