Walgreens use to be AAA tenant when I look for investable commercial properties.
Now in SF, many Walgreens have closed their stores because of the rampant thefts and high cost in security. Their policy is not to confront the criminals and organized crime has taken advantage of the stealing.
I knew the referendum California passed in 2014, which downgraded theft of property to a misdemeanor as long as its value is $950 or less would result in more thefts but I didn't anticipate these big box stores to close.
Target as well as CVS has same stealing problem and is resulting in high lost in revenues.

I have a commercial rental and the lost of Walgreens on my block will result in less foot traffic.
It not only hurt the commercial rents in area but seniors needing their prescription drugs have to find further proximity to get them.
Local politicians and DA office and police need to be more supportive and need more enforcement to deter the criminals.
It's tough to operate commercial business in SF.

Hire some of those Korean shop owners back when riots were happening and let them blow away a few shop lifters and see it the thefts don't subside. Peace through superior firepower.

SF has a serious problem but is occurring in other cities. CA may be lower the stealing amount to $500.
It's embarrassing in that internationally, they are shock in what's happening in CA.

My son was in SF last week, his buddy had a car window smashed so they could steal....................car wash tokens. No lie.

Back in NYC, I understand, if you want something worth more than $6.99 at a CVS, its under lock and key and you have to have assistance from an employee with a key.

Several years ago regarding a big drug store (I don't remember the name), an African American customer was on the news complaining that the store put hair products for African American under lock and key. The customer complained.

Stores like Walgreens are particularly problematic because they're not just the average retail store. They have pharmacies, which are obviously very highly regulated. It's a complete regulatory headache if drugs get stolen.

Some are not shocked at all. Some were trying to warn everyone about the consequences of electing the yahoos that brought this situation on. They are now labeled domestic terrorists and white supremacists by those same yahoos. Too bad the perpetually dain bramaged will continue to support such idiocy. As long as that continues to happen...stew in it.
