Very true. I have SFREP and use 3 separate machine as a lone wolf, plus you don't get nickeled and dimed with additional add on options fees. Very few leave SFREP, multitudes leave Alam. I've never understood the hare krishna type loyalty for a product that charges so much for what it delivers.Same with SFREP. Watch all the Totalstans on here start going after the OP. The only other place I've seen this kind of brand loyalty to a total **** company is Tesla.
If they licensed machines that would make sense, but Alamode doesn't license the machine. They license the user. This is taken directly from their website...It's software. You have to buy separate windows license for your laptop, and all your other machines. You don't get to buy one license and install it on all your machines. That's just the way it is with software.
Haha! The folks at ACI take exactly the same mentality...I remember the first time I got caught up in an alamode situation like that, the person on the other end of the line wasn't particularly nice about it either. They started off with the "why are you stealing are software?" position instead of "our long-standing software agreements have changed".
I use Bradford for 15 years but based on the OP situation I would not switch providers unti business slows down as it takes time to get used to other platforms. Also Bradford is no kid and I expect to see him sell it as soon as he can find a buyer. Lets face it appraisal software is not a business most people want to purchase or operate as it has a yearly declining users and many are retiring and not many new ones coming in.Haha! The folks at ACI take exactly the same mentality...
no doubt.I use Bradford for 15 years but based on the OP situation I would not switch providers unti business slows down as it takes time to get used to other platforms.
I don't see it as them charging that much, $399 for a basic plan versus $588 for SFREP and the software just works or it wouldn't be used by so many. I'm not a fanboy by any means, they do stuff that I simply do not understand or agree with but I have used the software since 2000. I haven't tried many other vendors, a few years with ACI but back in 2000, I couldn't wait to use Alamode as it was so far more advanced.Very true.
