C'mon now, who are you trying to kid? Nobody values a junior licensee (or any licensee) enough to single them out for a job like that. You got the same email 10,000 other licensees got.

The fact remains that regardless of how you became aware of the job opening, you submitted an application to work for them, they screened that application and they went through their due diligence efforts before extending the job offer to you. The MOST you could say about their employment process is that the interaction was mutual.

"Hey Jeff, We are opening up an appraisal review team. Would you like to be a part of it?"

They requested my assistance, not the other way around. How you can spin this is ridiculous to me. Employers need labor. What point are you even trying to make?

I was already a certified residential appraiser. Only one other person was an appraiser on the team that eventually expanded to 6 people. Yes I did learn a lot. And they paid well and treated their employees well. Best company I've worked for.

If they paid more, I would still work there. But why sit at a bank desk for $30/hr when I can sit at my own desk for $60/hr? And I get to see inside cool houses.

You SAY you're a libertarian socialist but the only way our society can force employers to share the profits with the workers is via growing and empowering the State to force them to do it. And neither did they you confuse gross with net , most banks have a lot of overhead

The bank was starting an inhouse AMC. I was part of a new 4 person team that reviewed all residential appraisals for the bank. Before us, appraisals were just reviewed by the underwriters and loan processors.

So there was a previously existing relationship and the job was not your first interaction with them or the result of them making some cold call on the blind basis.

I'm not going to argue the specifics of a situation I can't see in its entirety. The point still remains, regardless of how you ended up working there you still exercised an alternative based on your own priorities. Nobody forced you to do anything. Instead of blaming them for that you should come to terms with how much of your outcome is the direct result of the choices you have made.

I don't understand the leap you are making. Why does profit sharing imply that everyone is self employed? You hire employees because there is demand for them.

One gets paid an agreed upon wage. Why should I share my profit with you? You took no risk, I did by creating a job for you. It is not a hard concept, really it is not.
