Appraisal Bias

I was a Broker in 1983 so I knew people, but finally gave up on finding a real mentor and just got new business cards that said Broker & Appraiser and figured most out on my own. But Appraisers were not helpful in general in my area and it was almost impossible to break into the good old boys club back then. Even AI and ASA didnt want any new residential blood.
Glenn, you're older than me and you may remember.
CA Realtors had a dirty past. At one time they were discriminatory against nonWhites. When there were laws against this, a ballot was put before the CA voters and it passed in housing discrimination. The courts ruled against it and eventually, CA Realtors had to succumb to the reality of nondiscrimination.

No I got a first real estate license in 1979 and we had quite a few minorities and women in the business. Our real estate offices in 1980s and nineties were pretty well represented. I never really saw any racism in real estate as agents tend to love anyone who will make them a commission and the same in loan officers.

I had a friend who lived in South Carolina and came out to CALI in1983 and he said the Blacks back there had their own group called Realists Boards and Whites had theirs and both didnt work together. Anyway not not out in my area and all that mattered was the color green. As far as blacks most veered towards City , County Post Office Jobs, not selling real estate.

You will never see this administration attacking NAR as they give too much money to the Party and they will not put up with it. I love NAR and how they have always backed up their people and unlike these appraisal organizations that did nothing at all.

That was not Biden it was 3% Rates :) LMAO
But Biden was in office, then too.
And you just accused him of trying to destroy the profession. As if he has nothing better to do ! Please give your propagandizing a break. It is invading appraisal topics to a degree that is becoming toxic. Not as funny as you think it is !! Sorry to say. Like you still but this is getting old. Step back a bit and dial it down. So other views can come forth. Just saying.

And NAR /Realtors and brokers had several overhauls wrt housing discrimination in the past. Unlike some appraisers, they did not make it into a bitter personal battle or attack whoever was president at the time.

Yeah learn a lesson about backing their people from them. Your main contribution here the last couple of years was to make repeated sarcastic posts about how awful appraisers were and no wonder they were going to waivers.

I believe in was in the 1960s where it was prevalent in housing discrimination. I guess you're not that old.
Realtors eventually gave in and realized that money can be made with changing demographics.

NAR Black and African American members made up the third largest group at seven percent of respondents. For nearly half of Black and African American members, real estate was not their only occupation and income generated from real estate supplement their overall earnings.

No because no President was going after them :) LMAO

OK give us some factual news not your opinions. Mine has all come directly from the Press releases made by Biden VP Harris and others on the task force. Yours never address whats said but how you feel and then pivot to defending the ones who are not on appraisers team.

Now in all in fairness I dont know who you would defend and you will have to go back to the issues you have been focused on like AMC and Separation of fees. Although neither of those topics is part of the "task forces" or administrations goals or agenda.

No because no President was going after them :) LMAO
How is making a Pave task force "going after them?""

The same kind of belligerent "weaponization" charges the RW makes about anything they don't like It is turning what remains of the board into one big propaganda outlet even on appraisal topics. Not for nothing, but note fewer and fewer people post the longer it continues. Give it a rest.

The kind of education RE agents had to get after and the policies they had to adhere to after their discrimination suits far more draconian then the PAVE stuff. ( I was a RE agent around that time, shortly after the suits were settled ). a
