Appraisal Bias

OK give us some factual news not your opinions. Mine has all come directly from the Press releases made by Biden VP Harris and others on the task force. Yours never address whats said but how you feel and then pivot to defending the ones who are not on appraisers team.

Now in all in fairness I dont know who you would defend and you will have to go back to the issues you have been focused on like AMC and Separation of fees. Although neither of those topics is part of the "task forces" or administrations goals or agenda.
Their press releases do not say they are "going after" appraisers or "want to destroy the 97% " and other inflammatory charges you are making.
what do my views on the bundled fee but what does have to do with this?

Stop inflaming the subject of PAVE and leave it alone. you are not even appraising any longer from what you indicate. Stop making it worse for those who still are. You really are making it worse. Anybody can read about PAVE and form their own opinions.

J.G Grant you are confusing PAVE with PAREA - PAVE ( Below ) I don't care about PAREA which is just a easier way to gain entry into becoming a appraiser.

PAVE is a first-of-its-kind inter agency task force dedicated to ending bias in home valuation. The task force includes 13 federal agencies and offices and is chaired by HUD and the White House Domestic Policy Council.

Federal Agencies on Task Force

On June 1, 2021—the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre—President Biden announced he was launching an inter agency initiative to combat bias in home appraisals. This initiative became the Inter-agency Task Force on Property Appraisal and Valuation Equity known as (PAVE).

Co-chaired by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge and Domestic Policy Advisor Ambassador Susan Rice, the Task Force was directed to (i) evaluate the causes, extent, and consequences of appraisal bias and (ii) establish a transformative set of recommendations to root out racial and ethnic bias in home valuations.

In addition to HUD and the White House Domestic Policy Council, 11 other federal agencies are members of the Task Force. These principal agency leads serve in an advisory role—helping design federal interventions to advance valuation equity.

She knows now unless she refuses to read what it is. She seems to want to believe it is something else entirely.

yep if they can waive one they can waive them all...except marin city :ROFLMAO:

I've read it.
It does not say Biden is "going after " appraisers or the goal is to eliminate the 97% of white appraisers and the other swill you 've alleged. Stick to the facts and stop posting things like that.

I personally do not see a way they can make equity valuation a widespread thing since lenders and investors do not want to fund and risk loaning on over priced properties. But if they make it a thing on some limited basis will see what that is at the time.

So you don't think that Marcia Fudge stating that a house up the street from one she owns was valued lower than one a couple houses up the street is a result of appraisal bias is a problem? Even though the house "up the street" was located in a far superior neighborhood and all of the metrics are there to easily prove that. So she was either lying or was ignorant. Either way. That is who is leading the task force. Kind of speaks for itself.

yes I think it is a problem, but how do folks saying things like "Biden is out to get appraisers", or " they want to eliminate the 97% of white appraisers ", help the problem? It makes it worse.

I believe people are overestimating what this task force can or will do. She has an idea (incorrect ) about valuation. do you think banks and lenders and the entire system is going to change because of that? I don't. Banks and lenders and investors do not want to loan on overvalued properties or buy those loans. If Marcia gets her way it will be in limited designated cases of a town or the like.

I don't see how the kind of grievance discussion that goes on here helps the matter at all. Offer something positive or constructive imo instead. Thanks.

CFPB carries the big stick. FDIC, OCC, FSLIC are probably ranked second and FHFA is a close second with FDIC, OCC and FSLIC.

i don't think biden wants appraisers to suffer from over whelming guilt for appraising certain areas lower than others. however, the leftist behind the puppet believe all white people need to move down the equity ladder quite a bit. biden is too busy right now trying to figure out how to build a rail line from the pacific ocean to the indian ocean that he mentioned in a recent speech.
i thought that CU tells you that you appraised a property too high with lower sales revealed. it doesn't say you appraised a property too low? CU has a value bias.
