I just hit the windows button, shift button and "S" key and it pops up in windows 10. Then I click on the snip after I snip it and it lets me save it or do whatever with it. After you snip, It has a little window that pops up with the snip and says select here to mark up and share the image.

Yes, it is Microsoft. It's only $125 a year for one drive and office (word, excel, outlook) but that's for 5 computers and I only have 2 laptops and I backup everything on it. Sometimes you can catch a special for lifetime subscriptions but I never seem to catch it in time. I also use Mozilla browser primarily. I've used Snag it before too and it's similar if you don't need Microsoft.
I used MS for a decade or more but when my desktop crashed about two years ago I simply never renewed the license, relying on various Google online alternatives. BTW I couldn't find SnipIt in my Apps folder, so I simply downloaded it for free from the online Store and everything now is OK. Seems that even though I was still able to partially use the previous version, it didn't exist on my computer. Literally a day or two of terror, trying to figure out why even simply technoloogy drives me crazy. Pal of mine who is hearing impaired visited me today, asking the difference between the cable for cable TV and the internet (both from Sprectrum as well as my cell phone service). I realized that I couldn't explain the difference because I don't fully understand the technology!!!

That's what I did for the last two years, but suddenly about two weeks ago I was only able to snip...but the snipped screen never was dispalyed!!! Weird. But finally resolved; see previous post. THANKS VERY MUCH FOR THE RECOMMENDATION.

It works for me. Sometimes on plat maps it is priceless. I just snip the subject site and put it in the appraisal report. I probably should put the whole plat map page in too. But I don't most times.

Idk about windows 11. Haven't tried it yet. I have windows 11 on nice computer. Windows has a built in snipping tool on windows 10. It don't cost anything. Windows button, shift button and "S" key on keyboard. Window pops up. You snip with your mouse. Another window pops up and you click on it to download or whatever.

Hold the windows button, shift key and hit the the letter "s" at same time. It will pop up. Snip with mouse and another window will pop up. Then you can download or whatever.

Snip & Sketch is saved to clipboard, not a file unless you enable it.

If you open it from the start menu, click on the ... on the right hand side and go to settings you can turn on "Save snips" and it will ask where you want to save.

There are so many free ones out there. Flameshot is probably the best
