And here is another article quoting one of the GSEs gang of six about lowering Appraisal Costs.

How much less, Brenan wouldn’t say. But Fannie Mae, based on 121,000 property data collection submissions in its pilot from April 2021 through March 2022, said lenders were able to shave off, on average, four days compared to traditional appraisals.

The cost savings was about $90 to consumers, although a spokesperson said pricing for appraisals is set by the market and Fannie Mae is not involved. Appraisal costs vary widely, depending on the complexity of the assignment, but could fall anywhere from $250 to upward of $500.

To the extent that appraisers do less work on hybrid appraisals than traditional appraisals, Clear Capital expects their rate of pay to be lower.

Yes but you had previously named Freddie Mac not Fannie Mae and that is what Danny was questioning.

No Diversity: 96.5% Of U.S. Appraisers Are White

President Biden's and VP Harris Task Force says More than 97% of American real estate appraisers are white. They are 70% male.

You should have tried a little harder. And before you say he no longer works for Freddie, he was the vice president of Single-Family Business at Freddie for seven years. If anyone does not think this has been in the works for years, you are naïve beyond belief or simply trolling.

According to reports from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, both companies are waiving appraisal requirements in some circumstances. This is because their automated software is able to use previous and current data from the market, and even on the home itself, to determine whether or not an appraisal is necessary. If it isn’t, they will forego the appraisal.

“By leveraging big data and advanced analytics, as well as 40+ years of historical data, we’re cutting costs and speeding up the closing process for borrowers,” said David Lowman, executive vice president of Freddie Mac’s Single-Family Business. “At the same time, we’re providing immediate collateral representation and warranty relief to lenders. This is just one example of how we are reimagining the mortgage process to create a better experience for consumers and lenders.”

I take it you could not find anything to support the actual claim about a Freddie statement, or you would certainly have posted it. :) Nice diversion - I will give you that.

Action A can produce result B, even if B is not the reason you did A.

If one says that borrowers who get waivers save money in the mortgage process, that is not the same as asserting that reducing cost is a primary driver for granting the waiver, as some are claiming.

They did not sale 97% are white male racists ( which is what you claimed )

people have to waste time to look up the facts to contradict the lies and falsehoods, we should get compensated for it....

Stop posting falsehoods-

The PAVE task force did not say appraisers are 97% white male racists - it said 97% are white ? and whatever percent are male and addressed an issue of possible racial bias.

President Biden’s Directive To HUD and other Federal Agencies.

President Biden’s Directive-The PAVE Task Force is composed of thirteen Federal agencies, including the White House Domestic Policy Council.

On June 1, 2021—the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre—President Biden announced he was launching an inter agency initiative to combat bias in home appraisals. This initiative became the Inter-agency Task Force on Property Appraisal and Valuation Equity (PAVE). Co-chaired by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge and Domestic Policy Advisor Ambassador Susan Rice, the Task Force was directed to (i) evaluate the causes, extent, and consequences of appraisal bias and (ii) establish a transformative set of recommendations to root out racial and ethnic bias in home valuations.

The Action Plan is a document that outlines clear actions that federal agencies will take to root out appraisal bias. The Action Plan is part of an ongoing commitment from the Federal Government to expand home ownership rates for families and communities of color. This commitment will continue to be informed by data, members of industry, advocacy, fair housing, and academic organizations, and by the stories of all Americans who dream of home ownership.

I thought you would say that because your pride is stubborn. Instead of admitting you were wrong and a Freddie Mac executive said that waivers would cut appraisal costs, you have to try and twist your way out of the situation. It is funny how the same executive did not say we are cutting how many points a mortgage Broker will earn on each loan, saving the consumer actual money on closing costs. Anyway, I have real work to do, and I will let others decide.:giggle:
