Don't want to call Asbestos shingles

Asphalt? I never hear of that. Asphalt is for paving.
You have never heard of asphalt roofing shingles. C'mon man. Do you have flat roofs on your commercial buildings. Unless they are rubber or any other synthetic material. They are most likely built up roofing which uses layers of asphalt impregnated roofing paper and hot asphalt.

Not for exterior siding.

Lots of old houses from the 30s had rolled asphalt shingles. Our old chicken house was originally sided with Asphalt shingle.

A-C shingles were popular in the 50s. And many many water lines are made from asbestos-cement pipe. Has a burst strength of about 200 psi.

I describe it as Asbestos Cement Siding or Asbestos Stucco Exterior.

When left alone and intact, siding with asbestos poses no risk to human health. The risk is breathing in the asbestos if the siding is broken.
Don't break the siding and breath in the particles.

Siding with asbestos was estimated to last 20 to 50 years. There are homes in my market built from the 1910's through the 1950's with siding containing asbestos. When properly maintained it looks very good and will probably last another 100 years.
Calling it Asbestos Cement Siding is calling it as asbestos. You know better not to call it asbestos if not tested.
I suspect the white wrappings in my heating ducts have asbestos especially the old age of my home.
I just hope those exposed wrappings (and some torn) won't have significant asbestos which can kill me years later from daily breathing the air. :(

Nope. Not the same thing. Asphalt siding was generally referred to as Inselbrick (brand name) or Insulbrick . Same material as asphalt shingles. The most popular had a "brick" design (thus the name). But it was little more than asphalt roofing used as siding
Sure it is, at least here in the Los Angeles area as well as the Bay area where Nando is. Many of these early 20th century homes have asphalt shingles. Insulbrick is not very popular here. We have siding more like the picture I'm posting or the "original" (most likely with asbestos) stuff with the wavy bottom like the 3rd photo of what Terrel posted.

*Sigh*

Now let's look at the OP.
Subject has exterior which I normally would call asbestos shingle.
For someone whom often says "say no to drugs". It certainly seems as if you're on them while you post....

Can't view the photo. But If it like the ones Terrel posted. They are not "asphalt".

If you are talking about the below. Not the same as the hard asbestos shingles. Just the same as roofing made to look like siding shingles. Just like Inselbric was made to look like brick. But same basic material as asphalt roofing shingles. Probably has asbestos. But not he same

In my head and to my fellow appraiser, we consider it as asbestos shingles.
Yet we would never put it in writing and call it out to lenders.
And if I see someone smoking weed, I don't call them out. Smoking drugs can cause some to do unpredictable things. NO TO DRUGS!
