AQB's latest dumbing down by 'Stakeholders' Dropping the College Degree Requirement

You would think TAF would only lobby on behalf of the public trust in the appraisal profession.

Back when they were sponsors the annual dues was something like $2500/yr. Even if $0 of those dues were used to offset TAFs costs of their interactions, it's still not enough to bribe anyone at even a state level of govt, let alone the federal level of govt. Nor can you or anyone else point to anything TAF has ever done in furtherance of the "Sponsors" interests over the objection of all other parties. No part of USPAP caters to the business interests of these sponsors, and even if you want to say PAREA favors their interests they aren't the only parties who are advocating for an easier path to licensing.

TAF doesn't even have anything to do with your primary complaints of lender or GSE conduct WRT your fees and payment. Nor on their migration to hybrids, desktops and waivers. TAF has no role in ANY of those complaints. You might as well be complaining about TAF being corrupt because they aren't stopping Taylor Swift from slandering all her exes.

The "Partners" don't even pay dues anymore, so how much influence do you think $0 buys at TAF? Speaking of which, now that they're not paying dues to offset TAFs costs exactly who do you think is picking up that tab? What source of funding do you think has replaced the annual dues that the "Partners" no longer pay? Because there will be costs and those costs will not pay themselves.

What Are They Lobbying For?

BY JONATHAN MILLER · PUBLISHED AUGUST 8, 2022 · U

TAF spent $1.4 million dollars lobbying over the past four years using the revenue they take in from appraisers…
To set the stage of the complete disdain for the appraisal industry and the public trust…

In the 2019 TAF 990 Filing, and based on the assumption their compensation has increased in the last three years, the two leaders of TAF, Dave & Kelly, run a 12 employee entity and make a staggering ± $750,000 annually. No wonder they don’t want to accept grant money to enable oversight in a not-for-profit!

read and weep... :rof: :rof: :rof:

Do you believe there is absolutely no legitimate cause for TAF to engage lobbyists? That non-profits should be legally prohibited from engaging any lobbyists for any reason whatsoever?

I would like to know the reason.

You might want to ask where he learned to read a Form 990 and Schedule C. Also ask for the explanation of the amounts reported in Lines 2a - 2f. Also ask how much did TAF spend on lobbying in 2019? 2020? 2021? 2022? ( I added 2019). Questions should also include where did TAF lobby? Who did the lobbying? Was it TAF employees, trustees, or professional lobbyist?

I would like to know the reason.
Me too. It's a good question to ask. AND this might be a situation where a petition could generate enough heat to prompt the explanation.

Anything is better than watching the Alvin-Bragg style usage of guilt by vague and unsubstantiated insinuation these guys are using.
