MAGA are not conservative, they are not really Republicans; they are hiding under the R umbrella and kicking out the true conservatives and Republicans. They are followers of Trump and will march in lock step behind him. If they were really conservative, they would not be coming after Liz Cheney. Trump did not amass his influence alone. The path was set from years of RW media hosts such as Rush Limbaugh and his clones at FOX and more extreme versions such as Alex Jones. I listened to Rush for years due to a trainer at my old barn constantly playing him, and I learned a lot - yes he was smart and informed, and some of his views even made sense

But he wrote the playbook that Trump and the rest followed - mixing a kernel of truth with falsehoods, spreading disinformation and comprise theories, mocking anyone who disagreed, making a comeback "what aboutism" instead of taking accountability.

Thus the base was primed for the same kind of distorted version of reality that Trump embraced. The followers never questioned whether people like Rush or the mouths at FFOX actually believed what they said or said half-truths and spread falsehood for $ and power.

When FOX was sued and paid about 750 million for their false dominion voting crap, their media mouths admitted they knew it was false.
