Who else is dead slow lately?

Yeah, when the market slows down, it can get ugly in the office. Been there.
That’s the beauty of the internet for lone wolf appraisers, when things slow down we can go online and insult peers we don’t even know who are 1500 miles away. Example:

“It’s your fault it’s slow you slovenly, incompetent, corner cutting jackasses.” :-)

It must be Florida. Saw a post on Fakebook by a different Florida appraiser saying new construction orders had fallen off a cliff since Friday (posted on Monday) and wondered if anyone could explain the drastic change and when it would turn around.
Being in the Midwest, I'm not hearing many people wanting to buy in FL these days. 5-10 yrs ago everyone was buying a second home/condo down there.

Mindset has changed to "Why spend a lot of $$ on a small home just so you can pay high taxes and high insurance (and high condo fees) and then wait for the next hurricane to damage/destroy the home." A LOT more snowbirds are just renting for 3-4 months at $3-$5K per month. Enjoy the weather, drop off the keys.

I'd also guess that the increasing number of waivers is taking its toll.

The data for Feb in my area is looking like 20% decline YoY in both new listings and new pendings YoY. Both are going to be new lows for February.
Market near me (active listing trend 5 years):

# of Sales (5 years):

Definitely trending lower for sales, but listings are way up.

Looks like it is averaging about 30 sales per month over the last year. With 225 active listing that puts it at around 7.5 months of supply.
no doubt. To your point:

Or.... and hang with me here, as this is some crazy stuff - but maybe the media is just reporting more airline stuff as it appeals to their anti-DT base...

Did you hear about the near crash of a SW airline almost hitting a private jet in Chicago early this week?
The public has and these stories will scare the public in flying. FAA and Trump need to do better job.

I wish that were true. Maybe security lines and ticket prices would both go down...

'The knowledge economy is on the way out.' These are the skills workers will need in the age of AI, says LinkedIn

  • The "knowledge economy is on the way out" as artificial intelligence disrupts global workforces, says Aneesh Raman, chief economic opportunity officer at LinkedIn.
  • Instead, we are entering the "innovation economy" where human skills such as creativity, curiosity, courage, compassion and communication will be key, he said.
